What this example does and does not do
Only manifest-listed local SVG fixtures are used. The same three images are repeated with distinct keys to demonstrate a larger collection; no upstream artwork or remote media service is loaded. The long grove caption remains complete inside the scrolling lightbox.
These original fixtures are available under the MIT License. Your application owns image rights, privacy, CSP, alt text, responsive candidates and destinations. Native loading/decoding are hints, not guaranteed deferred fetching. Replacing this subtree closes its dialogs; restoration and reinvocation belong to the application.
There is no next/previous, swipe, zoom, pan, upload, transformation or selected-image state. The optional thumbnail-origin effect is deferred after three-engine testing; the browser handles modal behavior without a package runtime.
Use header theme and motion links to inspect alternatives. With CSS disabled or native commands unavailable, use the visible ordinary destinations. No component JavaScript is required.
